Wye Fishery
Wye Fishery Type of Site: Fishery Website

This site as the name suggests is all about the wyefishery, which is a river fishery between Ross on Wye and Monmouth. The fishery caters for anglers of coarse including barbel, chub and pike, and additionally offers salmon and trout angling.

The site is full of information about the fishery, including the contact email , telephone and normal postal mail information on contacting the owners. The site is well designed and is easy to navigate around and when I’ve visited the site it has always been extremely fast loading, even on the picture intensive pages.

Being a fishery site, it’s nice to see that they have included views of the river, as well as some excellent gallery photos of anglers and their catches.

I also liked the fact that the site gave it’s information about the rules, fishing types etc very clearly and concisly which gives the angler the information they need eg “Price of tickets , type of fish that can be caught” without overly waffling on.

The site also sensibly has a page about accomodation near the area and recommends some accomodation, but also points out useful places to gain alternative accomodation information.

Excellent fishery site, which makes you want to go and fish the river Wye. If I was being extremely picky the only thing that I can think of it lacking is some sought of catch listing, but this is dealt with in a way by the gallery pages of catches which includes the “Fish of the Month” angler and his catch (a fantastic barbel) click here
to see the photo page

OVERALL 9/10 - verdict: Excellent fishery site, check the site out and if the rivers half as good it must be worth a trip.
